Our Mission
The mission of the Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council, (OMSDC) is to assist corporations and public sector agencies in creating a business environment that promotes access and increases opportunities for minority-owned businesses, and to advocate, promote, educate and develop minority-owned businesses.
Our Goal
The goal of the Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council, (OMSDC) is to expand business opportunities for minority-owned companies; to encourage mutually beneficial economic links between minority suppliers and private and public sector organizations, and to help build a stronger more equitable society by supporting and promoting minority business development.
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council, (OMSDC) is to operate as a link between major corporations and minority businesses for the specific purpose of fostering greater utilization of minority businesses by the major corporations.
Membership
The Oklahoma Minority Supplier Development Council offers membership to major corporations and public sector organizations. Our clients are minority business enterprises (MBEs). Minority Supplier certification is available to minority-owned companies that are 51 percent owned, controlled, operated and managed by a U.S. citizen; the minority owner(s) must be active in both management and daily business operations and additionally must belong to one of the following minority groups:
African Americans Native American Indians American Eskimos-Aleuts Asian-Indian Americans	Hispanic Americans Native Hawaiians Asian-Pacific Americans Native American Tribes
National Affiliation
OMSDC is one of thirty seven regional minority purchasing councils across the country affiliated with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC). The NMSDC network enhances the efforts of minority businesses to indentify business opportunities nationwide and improves corporate identification of MBEs across the nation, NMSDC represents over 3,500 corporate members (including most Fortune 500 companies) and 16,000 certified minority business enterprises.
